Driver duo Mom Cooks Better Than You spoke to RPP about their projects and the comeback format that gave them their first directorial appearance.
Mama cooks better than yours and returns to her regular schedule on Sunday, March 5 at 7pm, taking over the spot on “In This Kitchen I’m In Charge,” a spot also hosted by Ethel Puzo and Yako Eskenazi.
In a conversation with RPP, the duo reminisced about their beginnings when they debuted as leads and how their off-screen friendship fosters on-set chemistry.
“The fact that we have such a great relationship, so much chemistry and we became real friends right from the start makes things flow so much better because there’s so much collusion. There’s so much chemistry, so much laughter, we get to know each other, we know how far we want to go with our banter, being alone, and that makes it flow and feel natural. “The friendship came naturally too, and we never had to force anything,” Eskenazi said.
Pozo said that when they set up the program, she told Yaco that they had already worked on the film “Loco Cielo de Abril”, where they shared a scene. In addition, Eskenazi already had experience in television having been part of Esto Es Guerra.
“He was already watching TV, from Esto es Guerra, so he came up with the theme of living. I was very nervous. (Yaco) helped me, he was very generous in the beginning and (the chemistry) happened. In fact, I think we have clear objectives: our family comes first, And we work to do the best for our family, which brought us together. He replied: We are on the same path and we want the program to be the best it can be because we also want our children to be proud of our work.”
New Projects
In addition to leading My Mother Cooks Better Than Your Mother and America’s Hoy, Ethel says that this year she decided to bet more on her passion for acting and the projects that may arise.
“I’m with Maricocha, Said, my character debuted on Wednesday, which is Aphrodite, a girl from Cajamarca. I hope the audience likes it, because they are already addicted to the soap operas that Del Barrio loves. This year I embarked and decided on New Year’s Eve that I wanted dedicate myself to it The passion that I’ve had since I was 18, since my first workshop with Roberto Angeles, which is acting, is being able to interpret the other person personally, so I’ll continue training in workshops, training, learning and doing my best. Pozzo said : “I want to be totally firm on this matter, okay, just start this tiresome path.”
For his part, Yako said that his entry into Estes En Toda brings a new face to him, and he also hopes to return to acting.
“Now (I’m) here at Mi Mama Cocina, which, as Ethel says, changes every year, bringing new things. Now also at Estás en Toda, which brings out a different side of me and is always learning, always trying to learn from those who know more or those who dominate certain areas more. And if I can act again, it doesn’t matter what.”
